Our series of drag show text banks, in which many of you joined, reached more than 350,000 voters in key states leading up to the 2020 general election.
We're teaming up with The New Georgia Project and a fierce cast of celebrity activists for a ninety-minute virtual text-bank drag show to drag out the vote in the Georgia Senate runoff!
The event will be hosted by John Cameron Mitchell (celebrated actor, playwright, screenwriter, director, and activist) along with RuPaul’s Drag Race judge Michelle Visage. The event will include performances from Alaska, Jinkx Monsoon, Sasha Velour, Peppermint, and Brita Filter of RuPaul's Drag Race, and Qya Cristál (Miss Gay USofA Massachusetts 2018). John will be reprising a song from Hedwig & the Angry Inch with Stephen Trask, the Grammy-nominated musician who composed the music and lyrics for Hedwig.
Celebrities and politicos scheduled to appear include Glenn Close, Patti Lupone, and Sam Park, the first openly gay man to be elected to the state legislature in Georgia.
The text-bank drag show is by RSVP only, and will be hosted on Zoom’s Webinar platform, on Sunday, December 13th at 2PM PT/4PM CT/5 PM ET. The event will be transcribed live by Rev.com.
The volunteer event is free but spots are limited and will go quickly. To learn more and RSVP:
